Jamie's Dance Odyssey

Terms and Conditions

  • Tuition is due the first of each month, September through May. You have until the 10th of each month to pay without late fees. Tuition is an annual charge divided equally into 9 payments, payable monthly (May’s payment is due no later than the 10th of May and must be current in order to receive recital costume). Therefore, tuition remains the same each month no matter how many classes are held. The accepted forms of payment are: cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and online payment.

  • If for any reason you will not be in attendance the first 10 days of a given month, you must still bring in, pay online, or mail your tuition (JDO, 137 Egg Harbor Road Sewell, NJ 08080) for receipt by the 10th so you do not incur late charges. Late charges will accrue as follows: pay the 11th-15th of the month is a $5 late fee. Pay the 16th–20th of the month is a $10 late fee. Pay the 21st and up to the last day of the month is a $15 late fee. Tuition a full month late incurs a $20 late fee. Tuition more than one month past due incurs a $25 late fee. If tuition is one month in arrears, we request that you call or email the Studio to discuss the problem. The first instance of lateness will have the fee waived as long as payment comes in by the 15th. Late fees are charged for all after that. We are sorry to have to add these fees, but our expenses are due the first of the month and we have seen tuition being paid later and later. If you pay your tuition late and do not add the fee to it, that late fee will be posted to your account. All late fees that accumulate must be paid by May in order to receive your costumes and purchase recital tickets. If your check is returned by the bank, there will be a $35 fee in addition to any late fees incurred.

  • Tuition must be current through December’s payment in order for your costume(s) to be ordered. If your tuition is not current and we have to order your costume late, you will be responsible for the extra charges incurred.

  • If you drop a class (class drops must be in writing through e-mail), in order to not be responsible for costume charges, you must drop the respective class by November 30th. If you drop a class after November 30th, you are responsible for the remaining months of costume payments. All class withdrawals must be in writing to become effective.

  • Each month we earmark $15 (for 45-minute classes; $17 (for one hour classes) and $20 (for 1.5 hour classes) of each class’ tuition toward the costume. If you join a class late, you must pay the back costume portion immediately. If you drop a class at any time, no costume portion is refundable.

  • Tuition is not prorated or refundable. There will be no credits given for unattended classes. If you must be absent for an extended period of time (at least 4 weeks), contact Susan so arrangements can be made.

  • As with any sport, special shoes are required for dance. The required shoes are available at Attitudes in Marlton and the list is posted at all times on our website. All children will be expected to obtain the proper shoes by October. Street shoes (shoes that have been worn outside) are not permissible on our dance floors. Once obtained, dance shoes should NEVER be worn outdoors. Your child should arrive to class in their street shoes and change into dance shoes.

A fitted dance skirt may be worn over the leotard. Hair must be pulled back off the face into a ponytail (bun for ballet). Tap and hip hop classes may wear leotard/tights, or a close-fitting camisole with shorts, capris, or jazz pants. If you wear shorts, you must wear tights underneath. Hair should be pulled off the face. Acro/tumbling students must our unitard (no stockings). Hair must be pulled back into a ponytail. • Class attendance is extremely important in order for your child to learn and to keep up with the rest of the class. Please e-mail the Studio (jdo5678@comcast.net) if your child cannot attend class. Also, please be advised that extended or frequent absences may result in your child being removed from the recital choreography at our discretion. Arriving to class on time is also important. It is disruptive to the class to have students arriving late, and is detrimental to your child’s learning to have multiple latenesses. Students who are constantly late may be removed from recital choreography at our discretion. Students who are removed from recital choreography for latenesses or attendance reasons will not be entitled to any refunds whatsoever.

  • All students are expected to behave like ladies and gentlemen. Parents will be notified if a student is causing any unusual disruption in class. We also ask that any siblings that are brought to the Studio be supervised at all times. We ask also that students be dropped off no earlier than 15 minutes before their class start and that they be picked up promptly when their classes are done for the night.

  • A calendar with all the important dates for the dance season is always available on our website. Please make every effort to not schedule vacations during Picture Week and Recital Day(s).
